News Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Katrina kaif 's movie

After Delhi Belly, Imran Khan is all set to deliver another hit with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, co-starring Katrina Kaif.

The actor claims that even though both films are comedies, the latter was much more demanding -- and that had nothing to do with the fact that the director Ali Abbas Zafar was a first-timer.

Khan tells Sonil Dedhia how his mother played an important part in getting him the film, and what it was like to imitate the top Khans -- Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh -- in the title song.

Will the success of Delhi Belly have a spill-over effect on your upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan?

Our industry is such that you have to prove yourself every time. Even if you are a superstar, every film counts. If your last film is a hit, that doesn't guarantee that your next film will be a hit too. You have to prove yourself with every film because you are as good as your last film.

I enjoy work with younger heroes: Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has taken a dig at heroes who are much older than her in age. She says she is far more comfortable working with actors of her age. The older-men club includes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, as both the actors are quite older to her.

"I don't think anyone will mind if I say it's very different working with older heroes because the age difference is about 20 years, and just about two to three years with the younger heroes with whom you can be mischievous," she said.

Though Salman has been her boyfriend for several years, the actress realised this now that the age-gap is far too wide between the two.

On SRK she said: "I don't know what it will be like working with Shah Rukh but I have heard that he makes his heroines comfortable".

My equation with Salman has not changed: Katrina

Katrina Kaif

Actress Katrina Kaif may have been born in Hongkong and living in Mumbai for last couple of years working in Bollywood, but she feels for the terrible situation that London is in currently; after all, it’s a place where she spent a couple of years growing up.

“Two of my sisters live there, but they are fine. It is very shocking and also a good reminder about the volatile situation in the world. Everything is transient and unstable today in the world we live in. But my family is safe,” she says.

Katrina, who’s been in the news for doing an item number for rumoured ex flame actor Salman Khan, addresses the many stories that suggest that she’s on an item number spree.

“The one in Salman’s latest film is not an item number. It is small part in the title track. But the other rumour of doing an item number with Sanjay Dutt for the film Agneepath is absolutely untrue,” she clarifies.

The actor also denies having opted out of Ayan Mukerji’s film with Ranbir Kapoor for Salman.

“There is nothing like opting out. The YRF films — Ek Tha Tiger with Salman and the other film with Shah Rukh Khan — were commitments made long before. Thereare films that will be discussed. Sometimes they happen, sometimes they don’t. It’s that simple. I haven’t chosen anyone over someone else.”
What does Katrina feel when she’s called the item queen or a numero uno?

“I don’t think there is any relevance in trying to gain any position. As long as I am getting good work and am happy with what I am doing, it’s fine. I am not interested in getting any title as such. Besides, we have names, whats the point of having numbers?”

An interview with Katrina is incomplete without asking that one question on Salman, Khan, especially since her on-and-off relationship with him is constantly speculated upon.

“If you have to be sane, you have to become immune to it. If you talk about being happy in love, feeling joy in love, feeling pain in love, that’s pretty normal and every girl in the world goes through it, but writing about it, publishing it is different. My equations with Salman has not changed,” says Katrina.

“Whatever our journey has been and the changes that has taken place in our relationship, it has been very well documented. There is no avoiding that. But we know how it is and that is the way it will remain. We still continue to be friends,” she says.

Actress Katrina Kaif is upset with a report that she cancelled the shoot for Yash Raj Films' Mere Brother Ki Dulhan because her favourite make-up man Subhash was unavailable as he had booked his dates for Anushka Sharma.

Katrina, 27, said people should not pull her down by writing such false stories and should give her respect considering her contribution to the industry.

"That was something really disheartening. I am not that kind of person who ever stood up and says, 'Look what I have done, look at me' or asked for any kind of respect or recognition or walked around with any kind of ego.

"But when I see people stoop down to that level and write these kind of stories, that's the only time I feel that I am not asking for recognition, but a little bit of respect after these years I have worked in the industry. Please don't pull me down to this level," Katrina told IANS.

The actress entered Bollywood in 2003 with Boom. Though Boom bombed, she went on to deliver hits like Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Race and Raajneeti.

Releasing Sep 9, the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a comedy where Katrina is teamed up with Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar.

The current favourite of YRF, Katrina, will be also seen in their Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan and Yash Chopra's next undeclared directorial venture opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She has teamed up with Anushka in the latter.

"Anushka is a lovely girl, starting off her career now," she said.

Salman Khan blows whistles for Katrina Kaif

When Katrina Kaif failed to blow whistles for a sequence in her item song in " Bodyguard", guess who came to her aid? Her former beau Salman Khan!

Katrina, who features in the second half of the song "Aaya re aaya bodyguard', was uncomfortable when she was asked to blow six whistles in the song. She couldn't whistle at all!

But Salman helped her out, tells a source from the sets. In fact, it was Salman, who blew the whistle for Katrina in the song. The two continue to share a warm relationship despite parting from each other. "Bodyguard", which features Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady, releases Aug 31.

Terrified of SRK, comfy with Salman khan: Katrina kaif

Katrina Kaif is getting set to shuttle between two big projects — one each with industry rivals Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. While shooting for Ek Tha Tiger with ex-boyfriend Salman will begin next week, Yash Chopra’s romantic film with Shah Rukh goes on the floors in a few months.
Although the actor is excited to work with the latter, she’s scared and unsure of what to expect. “I’m terrified of working with SRK. I don’t know what it’s going to be like, but I hear he makes you feel comfortable,” she says, adding, “The other day, I wanted to ask him what I must do if there’s a scene where I am supposed to look at him longingly, but I can’t act when I stand in front of him. What if the words don’t come out? What if I choke?”

Even then, Katrina claims that unlike many of her contemporaries, she hasn’t grown up in awe of her co-star. “I’m sure he hasn’t seen me either when I was a kid. We both come with a clean slate in that regard,” she jokes.

Meanwhile, Ek Tha Tiger marks her return to working with Salman, three years after co-starring in Yuvvraj (2008). She says, “Salman and I acted in two successful comedies together and one film that didn’t do well. I was a part of Ek Tha Tiger even before they approached him. After New York (2009), Kabir (Khan) and I became good friends and he narrated the film to me a day before I started shooting for Zindagi… Salman was cast much later.” She adds, “It was a coincidence. Why should we not do a film together? We are grown-ups and I am comfortable working with him.”

When asked whether it’s tough to be working with the archrivals, Katrina denies it vehemently: “This is a misconception in the media.

All of us are fairly responsible individuals and decently well-behaved people. We all have separate and different equations, which are
sometimes cordial and sometimes not so friendly. Everyone must respect that person’s individual equation. Camps don’t exist.

Katrina Kaif & Shah Rukh Khan rule TV as top advertisers like HUL, P&G, Idea Cellular & Panasonic prefer them over Dhoni & other cricketers

NEW DELHI: Cricket may have been the flavour of the season with the back-to- back World Cup and IPL in the first half of this year, but top advertisers such as Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Idea Cellular and Panasonic have largely stuck to film actors to endorse their brands.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif emerged the most visible celebrity on television in terms of advertising volumes during January- June, according data from television ratings firm TAM. She was followed by Shah Rukh Khan, M S Dhoni and Kareena Kapoor
Commenting on the study, Katrina Kaif said, "These studies are cyclical. What matters is consistent performance over the long term and this is what I choose to focus on, be it in my movies or my brands."

Consistency clearly is one thing most Indian cricketers lack as is visible from the Indian team's disastrous performance so far in its England tour. And, despite India's success in the world cup, only two cricketers, captain MS Dhoni and master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, made it to the Top 10 most visible celebrities.

"Bollywood stars definitely bring more recognition to a brand than others," said Mehul Choksi, MD of the country's largest jewellery maker Gitanjali Gems, which has hired Katrina Kaif to endorse its Nakshatra brand. Gitanjali Gems, which was among the top 10 advertisers on television in the first half of the year, however, paired cricketer Sreesant with actress Riya Sen to endorse its Rivaaz brand.

MUMBAI: Singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar is reportedly helping Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif in achieving her goal to master the art of strumming.

People are raving about Katrina Kaif’s rockstar image in her upcoming film “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” (MBKD), but not just in films, the Bollywood actress is learning to play guitar even in real life.

Zafar is Katrina’s co-star in MBKD, which is a love triangle and also stars Imran Khan and during the shoot of the film, he gave Katrina some guitar lessons.

“It was great working with Ali. The nice thing is that Ali is also a musician and since I’m learning how to play the guitar and I’m very interested in it, I’m trying to learn from whoever I can”, said Katrina.

“Farhan Akhtar taught me some stuff during ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and Ali has also taught me some stuff during this film. He is a good teacher and we are trying to get into a form where we can play a live song together in one of the promotional events for this film very soon,” Katrina told reporters here at the music launch of the film.

Katrina doesn’t charge a penny for Bodyguard item number

Katrina kaif

Katrina kaif

Looking at the close friendship Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are sharing right now, not many would believe that the couple have gone through a break-up. Now, Katrina has taken the friendship a step ahead by not taking any fees for doing the item number in Bodyguard.

Salman decided to rope in Katrina for the item number of Bodyguard which is called ‘Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard’. Being a close friend of the actor, she immediately agreed for it. But surprisingly, Katrina has decided to do the song for free. This is her first item number after the hugely popular ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’.

Kat has apparently said she wants to return the favour to the actor who, along with his family, has been very helpful to her in building her career.

Atul Agnihotri, producer of Bodyguard, is touched by Katrina’s gesture. He points out that Katrina didn’t charge a penny for the guest appearance in his directed film Hello.

HOT Sexxiest actresses

Who’s hot? Who’s not? Who’s the next big thing? Which is the movie to watch out in 2011? Filmfare polled campuses around Mumbai and the country. Here's what we discovered...

Katrina Kaif 44%

Priyanka Chopra 15%
Deepika Padukone 14%
Kareena Kapoor 13%
Sonam Kapoor 9%
others 5%
Sheila ki jawani fogged our horn-rimmed glasses. Katrina Kaif clad in a white shirt steamed up the screen and left us panting for more. She’s the stuff wet dreams are made of. Is it any wonder then a whopping 44% of students should vote her as the sexiest woman of our times.
Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor follow with a difference of just 1% between each one of them. But the gap of almost 30% between Katrina and her contemporaries is testimony to her soaring popularity with the masses.

Katrina Kaif 33%

Deepika Padukone 20%
Anushka Sharma 19%
Sonam Kapoor 11%
Genelia D’Souza 11%
Asin 4%
Others 2%
A good 33 per cent of our collegians want to date Katrina Kaif. Whether it’s her angelic face or that smokin’ hot body, when it comes to Katrina most people can’t seem to look beyond her. Not that we
blame them.
Just 1% separates Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma. Though Deepika has been linked with a wide range of men, ranging from cricketers, actors to businessmen, the campus guys won’t mind dating this South Indian beauty at all.
And Anushka seems to have zoomed into the hearts of the guys after the super success of Band Baaja Baaraat.
Best Bikini Babe

Katrina Kaif 47%
Anushka Sharma 18%
Sonam Kapoor 10%
Sonakshi Sinha 10%
Genelia D’Souza 8%
Vidya Balan 7%

Okay, no prizes for guessing this one. She’s been topping our polls so regularly that it’s almost become monotonous. If she’s the sexiest babe around and the one girl guys would love to date then it goes with reason that she would be The Chosen One in this category too. Blame it on her fab abs in Sheila ki jawani, Katrina Kaif wins hands down. An overwhelming 47 per cent vote for her.

Anushka Sharma comes in second with only 18 per cent giving her the nod. It were the memories of her emerging from the waters in a yellow bikini top in Badmash Company that did the trick

.

Sonam Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha tie for the third place. We wonder what daddies Anil Kapoor and Shatrugan Sinha feel about that?

Interestingly 7 per cent of collegians want Vidya Balan to shed her desi image and wear a bikini. Hmmm. The GenNext never ceases to surprise, does it?

Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma fight over makeup man

Actresses vying for the same place in Bollywood can never be good friends. We know that. We also know about the many times leading ladies have had power struggles when cast in the same film. In fact, Kareena Kapoor had sworn of multiple heroine films some time back. However, fighting over a makeup artist is a first even in this industry with its more than generous share of catfights.

YRF discovery Anushka Sharma and the production house's current favourite Katrina Kaif have started this new genre of catfights. In an effort to prove who the winner was in a continuing power struggle, the two heroines have now pulled in their makeup artist in the middle.

On Sunday afternoon, Katrina Kaif created quite a stir within the production house having learnt that her makeup artist was ready to fly off to London for a two-day event with Anushka Sharma. Katrina, who had to finish the patch up shoot for her YRF film Mere Brother Ki Dulhann, put her foot down. She wanted her makeup man to make her look pretty and not fly out of the country.

A source from YRF revealed, "Subhash, the makeup artist has been working with Katrina since she did Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya and the cameo in RGV's Sarkar. Of late, Subhash has also started working with Anushka Sharma.

Since Katrina hadn't hired him full time, it is the general thing to do among makeup artists to take up other assignments. Subhash had informed Katrina about his trip to London, 15 days back. He had told her that he was supposed to leave the country on the 8th of August with Anushka for a two-day event."

"However, Katrina on Sunday refused to let Subhash go for the assignment since she had some urgent patchwork shoot to finish on Monday.

Subhash informed Katrina and her manager Sandhya that he wouldn't be able to cancel his trip to London since he had already got the visa and the tickets in place. But Katrina just wouldn't let go of him. In fact, she called in the higher authorities," added the source.

Katrina approached the officials at Yash Raj Films since her shoot was for Mere Brother Ki Dulhann. She informed them that she wouldn't be able to complete the shoot of the remaining song if Anushka walks away with her makeup artist. "When Aditya Chopra learnt about it, he called up Anushka and asked her not to take the makeup artist Subhash along with her," said the source.

Having proved effectively who the bigger babe of B-town was, Katrina might have breathed easy. But the makeup artist did not.

The patch work shoot that led to the fight eventually got cancelled. And poor man Subhash lost his London assignment as well. "Anushka was very upset about having to go to London without a makeup man," said the source.

Explaining the Katrina-Anushka rivalry, another source said, "Anushka Sharma has been a YRF discovery. And Katrina is the hot favourite in the camp right now.

Apart from Mere Brother, she is also doing Yash Chopra's directorial next with Shah Rukh Khan. It is clearly a war for supremacy within the biggest production house of Bollywood." Katrina's make up man Subhash remained unavailable for comments.
